Our Youth Are Food for Sharks or Refugees in Strange Lands

At a recent seminar held in Manchester by Dakok Organization, Nawas Ali, a young Kurdish-Iraqi participant, delivered a searing statement that cut straight to the heart of Kurdistan’s crisis through Kurdfile Media

“I wanted to stay in my homeland. But two worthless families Barzani and Talabani  have stolen our future,” he said.

Nawas spoke with raw anger and sorrow, describing how the Kurdish leadership has turned the region into a private estate, suffocating freedom and

opportunity.

“The Barzani family treats Kurdistan like personal property. They don’t care about the people they’ve left our youth with no choice but to flee,” he said.

The reality he painted was harsh: young Kurds drowning in the sea, or risking everything to escape just to live as human beings.

“Our youth are food for sharks or refugees in strange lands,” he added. “We’re not asking for luxury  just the right to live freely in our own country.”

Nawas’s words reflect a generation betrayed by power, and a desperate call for change. His voice, echoing from exile, demands what every Kurd deserves: freedom, dignity, and a future.
