The nation in the deep of ignorance of Barzani’s
Diyar Harki
Because of the existence of widespread media and social media—like a large, ready army the truth has disappeared from citizens’ sight. As a result, the blind individual no longer feels that there is a problem, even though we are in one of the biggest financial and humanitarian crises.
Last autumn, when we widely published the issue of the tuition fees for Masrour Barzani’s eldest son and our grandfather’s favorite, we demonstrated that millions of dollars have been spent, at minimum, on Areen Masrour Barzani’s education from the very beginning through Sandhurst College. This happened at a time when we, the people, were trying to raise public awareness and wanted to prevent this kind of privilege that has been provided for their sons, while the sons of Erbil, Duhok, and Sulaimaniyah do not even have hot water in the internal departments of the Kurdistan Region to wash themselves.
At the same time, Masrour Barzani’s adjutant’s son filled out an application for the University of the City of London and announced this winter that he had obtained an online master’s degree in law, claiming to hold a master’s qualification.
Education is a good thing, but what is wrong in this example is the use of public/state property and wealth to enrich oneself, and the branding process of the sons of Masrour Barzani and Nechirvan Barzani cousins each of whom owns private companies, universities, organizations, and media channels. This clearly shows that governance in the Kurdistan Region is a farce, and that democracy is mixed with modern clan-based favoritism.
They suffered greatly due to illiteracy, so they want the next stage to be different, and they do not want to face the criticism that uneducated people are ruling their nation.
