Dakok Holds Seminar in Manchester, Calls for Justice and Youth Empowerment in Kurdistan
Manchester, UK – 18 June 2025
Dakok hosted a powerful seminar today in Manchester, reaffirming its stance on defending the rights of the Kurdish people and exposing the political repression in the Kurdistan Region.

Mr Mohammed Othman
Mr Jabar Dukani
A Kurdish activist highlighted the role of the Barzani and Talabani families in deepening the region’s crises, blaming them for salary cuts, repression, and forcing youth into exile. “These two families have turned Kurdistan into private property, robbing young people of hope and opportunity,” they said.
The event drew attention to the dire consequences of this political control with youth fleeing the country, drowning in migration attempts, or turning to desperate measures to survive.
“Life is about what we create and give, not just how long we live or how much we have,” the speaker added, calling on young Kurds to rise and lead change.
Legal experts also provided valuable information to help asylum seekers understand their rights and navigate host country laws.
The seminar concluded with a strong message: Kurdistan’s future lies in the hands of its youth, and awareness is the first step toward liberation.
