Kurdish Activists Protest Betrayal of 16 October in the UK
Several major cities across the UK witnessed protests organized by Dakok and Kurdish activists on Thursday, commemorating the “Betrayal of 16 October” and urging the Kurdish diaspora to actively participate in upcoming elections. The demonstrations highlighted the disillusionment with the two ruling Kurdish political parties, accusing them of betraying the Kurdish cause and failing to represent the people’s interests.
Activists called for unity within the Kurdish community and motivated voters to take a stand through the ballot box to bring about political change. Many protesters expressed their frustrations with the current political leadership in the Kurdistan Region, advocating for an end to what they see as long-standing corruption and undemocratic practices.
