Protests by public employees continue in Sulaimani, while Ali Rauf, the representative of contract teachers in Erbil, was arrested last night for organizing a planned gathering tomorrow with contract teachers in front of the Council of Ministers.
The key demand of contract teachers in Erbil and Duhok is the payment of their overdue salaries for July and August, which have not been paid yet. In contrast, teachers in Sulaimani have received their salaries for both months, though under considerable pressure.
