Dignity Can’t Pay Rent
Shwana Hilal Slams Barzani Family Over Stolen Wealth
Manchester, UK – June 26, 2025
Kurdish activist Shwana Hilal has launched a scathing criticism against Kurdistan Region leaders Masrour and Masoud Barzani, accusing them of enriching their families while ordinary people suffer in poverty.
Speaking at a public event, Hilal said, “The people cannot pay rent or feed their children with dignity. Slogans don’t solve hunger.”
He called on the Barzani family to return what he described as stolen assets to the people, stating that life cannot be sustained on pride alone.
The comments echo growing frustration among Kurdish citizens over economic inequality and government corruption. The Barzani leadership has not responded to the remarks.
