Court Sentences Teacher to Prison for Supplying Biscuits to PKK
Kurdfile: Luqman Najm, a secondary school teacher in Syedakan, has been sentenced to one year and six months in prison by an Erbil court on charges of aiding guerrillas. Najm’s alleged crime was delivering three cartons of biscuits to PKK guerrillas.
During the hearing, which was attended by Najm’s family, members of the Standard Agency’s legal team, and several activists, the court delivered its verdict. The sentencing has sparked outrage, with critics labeling the trial as unjust and undemocratic.
Najm had already spent nine months in a Asayish prison without trial before his sentencing, raising concerns about the fairness of the legal process in the Kurdistan Region.
Courts in Kurdistan are under the power of KDP and PUK, they are not able to practice properly!
