Children Subjected to the Oppression of the Barzanis
Diyar Harki – Founder of KurdFile
The residents of Lajan village have staged repeated protests, only to be met, according to local accounts, with live gunfire that left twelve individuals injured.
Under the visible presence of Badger armoured vehicles and the heavy weaponry of the Gulan Special Forces units reported to operate under the authority of Mansour Masoud Barzani villagers have now been compelled to evacuate. Mansour Masoud Barzani is also associated with ownership of the Lanaz Company. As a result, elderly residents, women, and children are stranded along the roadsides, displaced from their homes.
These are the same children who, tomorrow, will be told to love their homeland and urged to sacrifice for their country.
A homeland that displaces its own citizens through force must confront a painful question: how does it expect loyalty from those it has left on the roadside?
