Leeds-Bradford Kurds Commemorate Sardasht Osman
Leeds, UK — On May 5th, Kurds in Leeds and Bradford marked the 15th anniversary of the assassination of journalist Sardasht Osman, abducted in Erbil and found dead in Mosul in 2010.
Organised by the Dakok Organization, the event condemned the Barzani family and ruling KDP, widely believed to be behind the killing. Speakers described Sardasht’s death as an execution aimed at silencing dissent and called it a symbol of the ongoing suppression of free speech in the Kurdistan Region.
Attendees pledged to keep his voice and cause alive.
