Razhan Ahmed: “You Rule with Dishonour While the People Go Hungry”
Manchester – 26 June 2025
Speaking at a protest outside the Iraqi consulate in Manchester, activist Razhan Ahmed issued a fierce condemnation of the Barzani and Talabani families, accusing them of exploiting the people of Kurdistan for decades.
“You are the most insolent and dishonourable authority on this earth,” she said. “In 30 years, you have dragged Kurdistan into deep economic and social crisis.”
Ahmed highlighted the growing disparity between the ruling elite and ordinary citizens, pointing out that while the ruling families own villas, millions of dollars, and massive businesses, public servants have now gone 55 days without pay.
“People are forced to appear on TV because they can’t feed their families,” she added.
His message was part of a wider demonstration held in seven UK cities, standing in solidarity with the people of Kurdistan and demanding justice, dignity, and immediate payment of public sector salaries. Razhan is a media manager at Dakok Organization, he records the views and events of demonstrations in Manchester.
