Will the Terrorists Be Released?
Opinion | Diyar Harki – Founder of KurdFile
In my opinion, one of the major points of contention between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian Arab Government remains the prisoners held by the SDF, who number in the thousands and have been identified as members of ISIS.
I believe the scenario may be such that these terrorists could eventually be released, creating a new situation once again in Syria and Iraq in a manner that directly impacts the borders.
It seems possible that this may have been worked on within the framework of the Abraham Accords, potentially linking the Israel–Syria–Iraq–Iran line together. This axis would occur across the body of Greater Kurdistan, and while good may ultimately remain for the Kurds, it would likely come only after much sacrifice.
In my view, the release of these terrorists could become the first step in implementing this plan — if such a development occurs.
