Find out about Hashd Al Shaabi from me.
Rzgar Muhammad Abdul
Hashd al Shaabi is an extremist Shia group in Iraq. At the beginning, this group was created to confront ISIS, but in reality, it served as a tool to increase Iran’s influence in the region. Unfortunately, both the KDP and the PUK voted in parliament to make it a legal force. However, none of their actions since then have been legal.
That’s why we have never seen any of their officers face court. There has never been a day when a police officer, or any individual from this group, has been arrested or taken to a police station. To this day, the group holds significant power and influence over the entire Iraqi government.
Their actions, though legal only in name, include: kidnapping, theft, armed robbery, and the killing of civilians. In addition, they harass international companies and embassies, forcing them to leave.
This group, although officially recognized, is in fact controlled by Iran. The Iraqi government has no real authority over them. Therefore, they pose a serious threat to the lives of citizens, as they can easily torture, kill, or falsely accuse people without consequence.
In several cities, they have seized homes and properties from civilians, insulting and publicly shaming them. Following the events of October 16, they entered the Article 140 areas and have continued the same oppression there.
I repeat: Hashd al Shaabi means Iran. We have seen their members raise images of Iranian leaders during the 40th anniversary of Imam Hussain (also known as Ashura), while placing American and Israeli flags on the ground to walk over them. If such acts are illegal in Iraq, why haven’t the courts sentenced them?
