Illegal Employment Scandal: Abdullah Kuekha Mubarak Credits Masrour Barzani for Secret Appointments

Abdullah Kuekha Mubarak lauds Masrour Barzani’s efforts in employing 3,000 young people in Chamchamal, highlighting the ongoing political manipulation and party favoritism in the Kurdistan Region.

Abdullah Kuekha Mubarak, a shifted political figure from Gorran movment to KDP, has publicly praised the role of PM of KRG  Masrour Barzani in employing 3,000 people in Chamchamal over the past three years. Mubarak attributed these appointments to the support and efforts of Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, stating, “With the efforts, courage, and support of my elder brother, Mr. Masrour Barzani, these opportunities were created. It is important that our people understand this fact and support us to continue.”

However, this announcement has sparked criticism and raised questions about the transparency and fairness of employment practices in the region. Kurdfile reports that Abdullah Kuekha Mubarak, previously a figure in the Gorran Movement, turned to Barzani for support after his party’s decline. The report highlights a glaring issue: despite the claims of mass employment, not a single graduate from Kurdistan’s universities and colleges has been officially employed in the past 14 years. Instead, secret appointments are routinely made for party members.

This political favoritism and lack of genuine opportunities for the general populace contribute significantly to the region’s poor financial situation. Many young people, disillusioned by the lack of prospects, are increasingly turning to migration and illegal immigration as their only hope for a better future.

Kurdfile comments on this troubling trend, stating, “Abdullah Kuekha Mubarak’s shift in allegiance to Barzani underscores the deep-rooted political manipulation in the region. The ongoing secret employments for party members while the general youth remain jobless is a major factor driving migration and illegal immigration.”

The ongoing economic and political instability in the Kurdistan Region, coupled with such blatant displays of favoritism, continues to undermine public trust in the government. As the region grapples with these issues, the international community and local activists call for greater transparency and accountability in government practices.
