“This House Is Stained with Blood”: Social Incidents Bypassing the Law and Moves Toward Revenge
Following a number of incidents in the Garmian area, writing messages on the doors of the homes of suspects or their relatives has begun to emerge as a phenomenon. In some cases, words are written on the walls of their houses stating: “This house is stained with blood.”
Writing on the doors of the homes of suspects or their family members often occurs after a social conflict, when people who had no direct involvement in the incident are forced to abandon their homes simply because they are related to one of the parties involved.
Mala Mohammed Ali, a religious scholar, told the Media that according to Islamic law, only those who commit murder or carry out a crime are considered guilty, and the relatives of the offender bear no responsibility.
He said: targeting innocent people is not permissible under Islamic law, because those individuals had no role in the crime.
After a recent social dispute in the Garmian area, slogans reading “This house is stained with blood” were written on the doors of several families connected to one side of the conflict. Similar cases have also occurred previously.
Sarbaz Omar, the media spokesperson for the Garmian Police, told the Media that writing on the doors of houses even those of suspects falls within the scope of a criminal offense. He emphasized that offenders must be punished by law, and no individual has the right to take matters into their own hands. Issues must be left to the legal system to be handled properly.
