Degala Is No Longer Just a Checkpoint

Teachers are the most important driving force among all classes and segments, in every country and every era.

Because they are the educators of the new generation and our children; they are the ones who teach justice, knowledge, wisdom, awareness, and leadership.

But sadly and painfully, for this illiterate, incompetent, ignorant, and uncivilized authority of the KDP, at what resembles a “Berlin Wall” — a wall built between bread and power — the Degala checkpoint stood against this respected class of teachers and civil servants in the ugliest and most frightening way.

At a time when they were moving quickly from Garmian, Halabja, and Sulaymaniyah toward the capital of the country,
to support and stand with their colleagues and fellow professionals,
and to raise the cry of hunger in defense of their livelihood and the rights of their families and children.

But unfortunately, the KDP did not respond to their demands with dignity or shame; instead, like a dangerous alarm, it poured tear gas on them and confronted them harshly and violently — not only physically, but also through the terrorizing and humiliation of human dignity itself.

Another disgraceful act was when Omid Khoshnaw, the governor of Erbil, stated that those crowds coming from Sulaymaniyah toward Erbil would not be welcomed, and that the gates would be closed in their faces!!!

This clearly shows that these two ruling families impose themselves through force and intimidation.

Citizens now have no bread or water, no electricity, no homes, and no income, yet they are told: “What’s mine is mine, and yours I will also take.”
You are not even allowed to express dissatisfaction or demand your own rights.
